In 1981, at the age of 14, I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Being the first convert in my family from Taoism, I was persecuted for my faith. However the 3 years of trials and persecution turned out to be one of the most rewarding and exciting times of my spiritual growth.
In Malaysia, I actively served in the “Inter-School Christ’s Ambassadors” and “Christian Union” for 5 years as an evangelistic chairperson, Thereafter, I served in a few local churches – in the youth ministry, connect groups, and in the worship team. Prior to migrating to Australia in March 2007, I worked in Malaysia and Singapore. I was one of the youngest Country Managing Directors of Unilever in Singapore, a top ranking organization listed in the Fortune Global 500. Through my leadership, the Singapore organization won several global awards - President’s Award for Teamwork and Top Performance Country in Asia; Global Battle Sales Leadership and Asia Sales Role Model; Global People Survey – Top score in Leadership and People Organization, and Organization Culture and Climate. While in Perth, I served in a local church for 6 years, managing their multi-media department which included publishing of books, and video production for local and international TV broadcast; led a family altar group and taught in the bible school. Between 2010 and 2012, the Lord led me to author two spiritual titles “Unleashing God’s Truth” and “Has Grace Been Abused? (with forewords from Dr. Kevin Conner and Dr. Margaret Seaward)”. Later, I wrote two management leadership books, ‘The MAD Culture’ and ‘MAD in Action’. ‘MAD’ stands for ‘Making A Difference’. These titles are published by Westbow Press USA, a division of Thomas Nelson. In 2012, the LORD put a great burden in my heart to prepare, equip and build an overcoming end-time church; making disciples and raising disciplers. “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” (Rev 21:7). In April 2014, I planted The Overcomers church at Brentwood. In July 2018, we took a bold step of faith to move to a permanent premises at Myaree; and took on a new name “CROWN OF LIFE (The home of The Overcomers). This is in respond to James 1:12 “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person (overcomer) will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”. Married for 30 years, Alvin and I are blessed with a daughter. Michelle is pursuing Primary Education. |
